Keep Calm and Carry On Stage Play – 2012

Here at the LKYPG, we strive to be different… In fact every time we put a project out, we look to make it bigger, better, and just as brilliant as the ones we have put out previously.

Last year, with the help of playwright, Joe O’Byrne, Reel Manchester, and the wonderful volunteers from the group, we decided to take a step away from the usual films that we produce, and decided instead, to create a PLAY!

It wasn’t easy… In fact, it was good hard work, although we kept in high spirits throughout the entirety of the project! Weeks of research, rehearsing, and running around like madmen culminated in Keep Calm and Carry On, a play based in a community air raid shelter during the christmas bombing raids of world war 2 in Salford.

Throughout the entirety of this play, Stuart, accompanied by Michael Dunne & Chris Seddon, produced a short making of video, showcasing the journey of the group, as they went from rehearsals, to performing in front of hundreds, at the Lowry Theatre!

We hope you enjoy the behind the scenes, of Keep Calm and Carry On!

This year, the LKYPG decided to do another showing of our community play, ‘Keep Calm And Carry On’. We decided that we were going to perform for four night this year… Three nights at the wonderful Salford Arts Theatre, and 1 night at the magnificent Lowry Theatre!
