We Don’t Know You Dougie, But We Like Your Treasure – 1999

The young people had done research on Black Bill Douglas who used to own a mill in Charlestown, and this inspired the young people ti create a film.

At the time of the film being made, their local youth club was running out of funding and was destined to shut down, so they used this as part of their script, where they searched for Douglas’ hidden treasure which they read about in their research in hopes to save their youth club.

Lesley Lever who played one of the ghosts said;

This was my first film experience, but I learned so much, such as the technical skills involved with making a film. When I watched it back, it amazed me how surreal the ghosts looked.

Stuart Blair who remaster the films said;

This was my first time working on a film, and it really gave me a lot of experience, which I applied to a lot of future projects.

Thomas Lever MBE who managed the project said;

It was a great experience for the group to make this film, as we will be able to make something bigger and better in the future.

The project was funded by New Deal for Communities
